Q: What are the Annual Conference dates?
A: February 17-21, 2013

Q: Who can attend the Western Veterinary Conference?
A: Veterinarians, Veterinary Technicians, Veterinary Assistants, Practice Managers, Administrative Staff, DVM students, Veterinary Technician students, allied veterinary health professionals. Photo ID required. DVM Students and Veterinary Technician Students in AVMA accredited programs require student credentials.

Q: How many people usually attend the Annual Western Veterinary Conference?
A: Nearly 15,000 veterinary professionals attend WVC, of which over 6,500 are veterinarians. Approximately 90% are from the U.S. and 10% from other countries.

Q: How can I register for the Annual Conference?
A: Registration is open and is available by MAIL, FAX, OR ONLINE.

Q: Do International attendee badges get mailed?
A: No, they must be picked up onsite at the International Counter.

Q: How many CE hours are offered?
A: In 2013, up to 39 hours of CE are available for a full registration and 5-11 for a one day registration. Please note that the WVC Autotutorial Theater and Industry Seminars do not qualify for CE credit.

Q: Can I register multiple registrants at the same time?
A: No. Each registrant must register separately, and each must have his/her own username and password.

Q: Is lunch included in the registration?
A: No. However, lunch and food options are available inside the Exhibit Hall and throughout the Conference hotels and Convention Center. Complimentary box lunches are also available from select Industry Seminar sessions.

Q: Are the Conference Notes included in the registration fee?
A: Yes. One copy of the Conference Notes is included with each registration through CD and online access. Does not include Guest registration.Additional copies will be available for purchase at wvcstore.com after the Conference.

Q: Do I sign up for each session I want to attend?
A: WVC’s scientific lectures, including symposia, and special presentations are open to all registered attendees on a first-come, first-served basis. Hands-on Laboratories, Workshops, and Lunch & Learn programs each require an additional registration and fee.

Q: How do I keep track of sessions I attend so I can submit my CE to my state regulator?
A: A Sessions Attended form will be provided to you onsite for recording your sessions (see back of the Scientific Program & Exhibit Hall Guide). This form is for you to keep and/or send to your state board. Do not send a copy to WVC.

Q: How do I receive my CE certificate?
A: Your CE Certificate will be available to print online after the Conference. Certificate printing will also be available on Wednesday and Thursday at onsite registration. For previous conference certificates, please submit your request by email to carolyn@wvc.org. Please note that you need to have your badge scanned when you check in onsite to confirm your attendance at the Conference. You do not need to have your badge scanned at each session you attend.

Q: How do I reserve my hotel room and what options do I have?
A: WVC negotiates discounted hotel rooms in Las Vegas at Mandalay Bay, THEhotel, Four Seasons, Luxor, Excalibur, MGM Grand, Tropicana, New York-New York, and Residence Inn. More information regarding WVC housing will be available on theWVC website after June.

Q: Can I purchase additional Guest badge(s) for my family and friends?
A: As a primary registrant, you may purchase one Guest badge for your family member or friend. Additional badges beyond the one allotted badge are not available. Family members and other guests may attend the Sunday, Tuesday, and Wednesday night entertainment events without a badge, when accompanied by a badged WVC registrant. A Guest badge will not admit a guest to any scientific session. A Guest badge allows entry to the Exhibit Hall, Guest Program, Guest Lounge, Health & Fitness Program, Conference entertainment (Sunday, Tuesday, and Wednesday evenings), and scheduled shopping tours. If a guest wishes to attend scientific sessions, including Practice Management, he/she must register for the full conference. Children under the age of 18 do not require a badge at the Conference. A child may enter the Exhibit Hall and entertainment events when accompanied by a badged adult. Children under the age of 18 are not permitted.

Q: Does WVC provide childcare?
A: WVC does not provide childcare services due to current Clark County, Nevada restrictions. WVC does not recommend that you bring children under 18 due to the professional and medical nature of the Conference. Please contact your hotel concierge directly for information about baby-sitting services within your hotel, or contact the following independent child care sources near Mandalay Bay (not affiliated with WVC).

Q: How can I find options for dining and Las Vegas shows?
A: Please contact the Mandalay Bay Concierge or the Concierge at the hotel where you are staying for information on dining, entertainment, and more.

Q: Can I bring my RV to the Conference?

Q: Where do I get my lanyard and badge holder?
A:  You will receive your badge holder and lanyard when you check in at the registration desk onsite.

Q: What is the weather like in Las Vegas in February?
A:  A typical Las Vegas day in February usually includes a high temperature in the mid 60s with overnight lows in the 30 to 40 degree range.
