Security Advisory:

A number of exhibitors participating in Western Veterinary Conference’s 2013 Annual Conference have received solicitation materials, usually as an official looking “Directory Listing” offer, from a publishing company located outside the United States, which publishes and sells of exhibitor directories and fair guides. These solicitations are typically sent by mail. One that we have been made aware of is from Construct Data Publishers, also known as fairguide.com, located in Bratislava, Slovakia.

THIS PUBLISHER AND ITS EXHIBITORS DIRECTORY ARE NOT IN ANYWAY WHATSOEVER AUTHORIZED BY, ASSOCIATED WITH, SANCTIONED BY, OR ENDORSED BY WVC.

While we do not have any first hand information about this company or its services, and are not in any way making any judgments as to the quality, benefits of the services they provide by way of this notification, we believe it is important that all of our exhibitors are aware of this scam.

Other forms of scams may relate to housing or exhibit services. If you receive any “official” looking form which is not directly from WVC, whether by email or US mail, from any company listing a WVC event or referring to a WVC event, which asks the information contained in it to be confirmed and returned to them; you should very carefully read the entire form before signing and returning to the sending party. Since, by not doing so, you could be inadvertently signing an agreement, which commits your company to an irrevocable multiple year contract with them for thousands and thousands of dollars.

Anytime you receive a solicitation offer by a supplier of services for one of WVC’s events, which you are not familiar with, and would like to find out if the supplier is an authorized WVC services provider, please contact Joel Altman, Exhibits Manager, toll-free at 866.800.7326 or email joel@wvc.org.
